Rainbow Rubble

Rainbow Rubble is the second island location in the Mermaid Cove region of Roperia. It was first released January 12, 2020 and is the 66th island in FW (26th in Ropera).

Rainbow Rubble[edit]

Description: Located 2 miles off Rainbow Rising, Rainbow Rubble sits at no higher than 4.5 rainbows above sea level, making this a dangerous place to be during bad weather.

How to Play[edit]

UV SunsCream

You will need to use one of the two featured poles as well as "Living Chum". You also need to apply "UV SunsCream", which acts kind of like the Oxygen Tank, in that it has a certain percentage that decreases and can be refilled at the shop.

Quests[edit]

Completing quests in all of the Mermaid Cove rainbow island locations with the Extendarod / Handline poles requires the new mechanic of requiring 'x' amount of weight, instead of 'x' number of fish. While this is not a new concept (ie: unlocking story requirements in the past has used this), the Extendarod / Handline quests of all of the Rainbow Islands are the first to use this new mechanic.

For example the first Handline quest Eeliscious requires catching a total of 205.63 lb's or 93.3 kg's of the Octomaid Fish to complete the first fish of that quest.

Rainbow Rescue[edit]

Follow the rainbow with these splendid Roperian delights.

The Rainbow Rescue is a collectable set for all of the Rainbow Islands. Can start this by collecting the first Collectable #1 of 5 piece of Waterpoof Plaster. The rest of the 4 pieces are found in the next rainbow islands. Turning in this set rewards the valuable (100) UV SunsCream as well as (5) Deckhand Voucher & (1) Large Ice Cube.

Storyline[edit]

When you first travel to Rainbow Rubble you'll get more storyline:

Voyaging to Rainbow Rubble - arriving in xx mins xx secs! Next Step: What a wild location... I see boat loads of bizzare fish amongst the rocks... makes me think, what would Earl do? Throw in a handful of Mullets?

You can do the throwing when you're on the island (not while traveling). After Throw a handful of Mullets, you will get the following messages:

Success
I threw a few Mullets (had xx, have xx) into the Rocks of Rainbow and they darted about ferociously, as if it was being tormented by something evil that lurked beneath, and suddenly, nothing... not even a breath of wind, I reel in my line to find nothing but a frayed end, with my hook and bait vanished. What have I just encountered?

Rainbow Rescue: “Are you sure that is exactly what happened? I cannot believe it, it's been years since the Emerging Darkness Shark patrolled these waters, last time it was a disaster, and it scared all the sea life away for years, I was scared I'd have to go back to my normal life in the city, it drove business out the window! If you collect: 6 Glow Worms, 6 Red Sharks and a Shark Hook, I think I can craft you a little something to catch this Shark, will you do it for me and this Rainbowites?” says Sandy.
TIP: Find the Shark Hook by catching a Rainbow Glider or Bramble Ray

After first catching a Rainbow Glider Fish or Bramble Ray Fish, you will get a Shark Hook

Handed over 6 Glow Worms (had xxx, have xxx) + 6 Red Sharks (had xxx, have xxx) + one Shark Hook to Sandy. Wait 4 mins 52 secs for her to finish crafting something special!

5 minutes later

Rainbow Rescue: “I've crafted you a Hyperactive Glow Hook, this hook will catch the eye of the Shark, and the oozing juices of the Red Shark should seep into it's skin, causing it's muscles to seize up as you hook it, this should give you your best chance at bringing this sucker in! Good luck out there and be safe.” says Sandy.
