Monsoon Lagoon[edit]

Description: Monsoon Lagoon is just off Blue Crescent … and high in the sky above it! Thanks to the combination of exceptionally humid air and the strong updrafts coming from the volcano, this area has become a favorite habitat for all kinds of flying fish! You’ll need a special airborne fishing gear and a whole lot of skill to catch these aeronautic (and astronautic!) species.

Monsoon Lagoon was initially released Jun 26, 2019 and is the 64th in FW (40th in Farovia), and as the description suggests it is in the Farovian Sea above Blue Crescent. As such one will need to use the new flyin chum. All chum, poles, add-ons can only be purchased at the new Farovian Air and Space Team in Fishertonville.

Monsoon Lagoon is an island that was suggested by wrangler Brad Mcclintock in the forums as seen here, with the story line written by another wrangler Lucy Snyder. The artist for this location was done by Diego.

Getting to Monsoon Lagoon[edit]

Wranglers must have unlocked Glacier Bay in Icelantica, before they receive a tip notification to talk with Deckhand Dex in the Sand Bar and Grill at WaterPort which will start the Story of Monsoon Lagoon. For more information please see the spoiler Story page.

What to Catch[edit]

All of the fish here are animated (as is the Island image on your main home page).

A rogues gallery of each Monsoon Lagoon fish can be found in The Fish of Monsoon Lagoon.

What to Buy[edit]

Farovian Air and Space Team (FAST) has an old unused hangar within Fishertonville where wranglers will find a fishing shop that stocks all the poles and flying chum they'll need for their fishing adventure across the skies.

Type Item Cost Points
Pole Dirigible 11,905 N/A
Pole Mission Recovery 18,000 N/A
Skill Skydiving and Ballooning Certificate 300,000 1,000,000+
Skill Basic Space Flight 350,000 2,000,000+
Chum Pretzel Chum 180 N/A
Chum Ambrosia Chum 190 N/A
Chum Cosmo Cream Chum 200 N/A

How to Play[edit]

Monsoon Lagoon comes with 2 new skills (Skydiving and Ballooning Certificate / Basic Space Flight); 2 new poles (Dirigible / Mission Recovery), and 3 new chums (Pretzel Chum / Ambrosia Chum / Cosmo Cream Chum). All of which one will need to head over to Fishertonville to purchase from Farovian Air and Space Team. In addition all quests are turned in with FAST at Fishertonville.

Wranglers will need to progress through The Story of Monsoon Lagoon, which is heavily Quest based. You should already have purchased the first Dirigible pole at Ch #4 prior to arriving at Monsoon Lagoon, starting with the first Dirigible pole quest of First Flight. As the first quest requires a pole Level of 16+, this means you will need to fish here a little while before starting the quest and continuing with the story. Progressing through the story will eventually lead to unlocking the second Mission Recovery pole.

All of the fish here are in the sky and requires the use of special Flying Chum.

What Chum[edit]

Wranglers can ONLY use flying chum at Monsoon Lagoon. All of the flying chum must be purchased at Fishertonville.

Currently the only flying chum in-game and can be used here are the Pretzel Chum, Ambrosia Chum, and Cosmo Cream Chum. Oddly while no other chum can be used here, one can use these flying chums at other non-flying islands such as at Blue Crescent.

When starting each new pole, it is recommended to use the Cosmo Cream Chum with its lower chum loss rate due to new poles being weak and having a lot of misses. Otherwise besides the difference in chum loss rate, all three have the same attraction. Check each fish you are after for its chum preference and use accordingly.
