Sol Queen

Sepulcro del Sol is home to the dangerous Sol Queen...

Sol Queen sporadically visits wranglers fishing in Sepulcro del Sol.
When making a cast and she approaches, you will see the following message:

"The Sol Queen is nearby... Sepulcro del Sol is home to the dangerous Sol Queen..."
Select an option!

• Stay calm and don't move.
• Take off and run.
• Offer my next few catches. (depends on the Sol Queen's hunger)
• Offer purified water! / Defend with Tribal Shield! (Requires level 93 Survivalist/Poacherist)/(works best with a level 95+ Survivalist/Poacherist)

The last option changes depending on which pole (Survivalist or Poacherist) you are currently using

Outcomes

Wranglers can gain or lose silver depending on the option chosen, pole level and chance at gaining collectible items. Examples of possible outcomes for choosing each option are provided below. Silver values will vary:

Option 1: stay still

• "I see the Sol Queen's fiery flames in the distance..." (refresh!)
• "Yes! The Sol Queen failed to find me! Gained 322 silver from the Sol Queen! Failed to get Mummy Torch!"

Option 2: run away

• "The Sol Queen is chasing after me..." (refresh!)

successful outcome:

• "Yes! I got away and fled to a nearby location. Gained 363 silver from the Sol Queen! Failed to get Golden Idol!"

If you can't get away, you will be sent back to Cadaver Expanse.

• "No! I couldn't get away from the hot grasp of the Sol Queen! Took 3,528 silver from me."
• "No! I couldn't get away from the hot grasp of the Sol Queen! Took 3,582 silver from me."

Option 3: offer catches

• "The Queen is trying to understand what I'm saying..." (refresh!)

Note: Sol Queen will take your next 1-3 catches (excluding crew and captain trips). You will not receive points, silver, or pole experience for these catches. You will receive quest credit for the fish if otherwise applicable. Flying Penguin, Mosquito Warrior, El Bandito, or any of the other villains in Farovia/Roperia will accept catches on behalf of Sol Queen if you travel away.

Sol Queen Collectable Set

Collectables are a "glory award" / "achievement award" that wranglers can show off. There are a set of collectibles related to Sol Queen, which vary in rarity.

Golden Idol (Fairly Rare)
"Wranglers will need to enter the most sacred temple in order to receive the Golden Idol!"
This collectable may be randomly dropped when choosing "Take off and run" and escaping the Sol Queen

Mummy Torch (Rare)
"Light up the secret hallways and dark corners with the Mummy Torch."
Randomly gained after choosing "Stay calm and don't move" and successfully hiding from Sol Queen

Royal Urn (Very Rare)
"The Royal Urn holds the remains of one of the most notorious leaders of Sepulcro del Sol."
Randomly gained after choosing "Give my catches" and having it be accepted.

Sacrificial Necklane (Extremely Rare)
"Prior to a sacrificial ceremony, the victim wears this gold-jeweled necklace."
Randomly gained after successfully attacking the Sol Queen

Sundial (Crazy Rare)
"The Sundial has been used to measure time in Sepulcro del Sol for thousands of years."
Randomly gained after successfully attacking the Sol Queen

Turning in the Sol Queen Collection will yield 1 Liquid Gold and 6 Large Ice Cubes.

Tips

Use your higher level pole for your encounter with Sol Queen so you have a better chance at Purifying/Defending.

Sol Queen is linked to the other encounters in terms of how often she appears. If you have interacted with others and already chose an option, you should be free from encountering Sol Queen for about two hours. She will collect the silver, points, and leveling if you offered catches from another encounter.

Choosing the Defend option will get you chances at the later items in the collection so you can trade down to complete the set.

Sol Queen is one of three encounters in Roperia where the collection set will net you a Liquid Gold. The other two are Saloon Girl and Escaped Prisoner.

Sol Queen requires a really high level pole (95+) to fight, compared to her friends (75+). You may want to consider a power-leveling strategy (level boost + timer/deckhands/tourney + love chum) to get up to 95+ ASAP.
