The Story of Roboton

Chapter #1: The Summons[edit]

Roboton: A Robo-Seagull just dropped a letter from Earl! He says he has 'an idea to make millions of gold' and forgot to include his location. BetsyLou at Waterport might know where he went...

Head to Waterport, then Ask Betsylou about Earl https://fishwrangler.com/my?ro=ask-betsylou

BetsyLou knows where Earl went! BetsyLou shakes her head. “Earl? Oh, he went to that tech island everyone's talking about. Took half my good rope and all of my patience with him. Here's the map.”

Journal entry is as follows:

Diego is enjoying a quiet day of fishing when a Robo-Seagull from the 'New Robo-Seagull Mail Co.' dives down and drops a letter at his feet. It's from Earl. He says he has 'an idea to make millions of gold' and asks Diego to meet him immediately - but forgot to include his location. Diego heads to Waterport, where BetsyLou explains that a mysterious tech-loving founder named Sir Sigfr-AI-ed recently opened a 'Future Island' nearby. Everyone has been moving there for the advanced technology. Earl went hoping to build futuristic gadgets and strike it rich. BetsyLou hands Diego a map to the island.

Chapter #2: First Contact with Fish-Bots[edit]

Roboton: BetsyLou says Earl sailed to a mysterious 'Future Island' run by a tech founder named Sir Sigfr-AI-ed. Robots everywhere - some helpful, most not. She hands you a map. “Be careful out there.”

Study the Map https://fishwrangler.com/my?ro=sail-to-roboton

Map in hand! Set sail for BetaBay. The map is crude but legible. Earl circled something labeled 'Robot Paradise' and drew a tiny stick figure of himself surrounded by gold coins. Classic Earl.

Roboton: BetaBay, Roboton's gateway island, lies just beyond the horizon. Time to set sail and find Earl!

Travel to BetaBay: https://fishwrangler.com/fishwrangler/map-travel/109?

Roboton: You've arrived at BetaBay. Earl says: “Buy one of me poles and start catchin' them fish-bots - I need the scrap!” Grab the Auto-Mate or Basilisk Protocol and reel in the easy bots round the dock.

Journal entry is as follows

Diego arrives at BetaBay - the gateway island that Sigfr-AI-ed shipped before it was ready. The brochure called it 'the future.' Up close it's robots sweeping the water, watering the rocks, and walking confidently into walls. Welcome to early access. He finds Earl in a makeshift camp. Earl explains the robots have gone haywire and the transport boats to the main island have stopped. Massive 'impossible' waves surround the main island, trapping everyone. Earl plans to build a Unsinkable.exe but needs high-tech scrap.

The robot fish of BetaBay are... interesting. They have jobs, opinions, and a worrying amount of confidence for machines that can't tell the difference between a rock and a customer. Diego starts catching them for scrap parts, and Earl starts tinkering. Every piece brings them closer to launching Unsinkable.exe - assuming Earl's wiring holds.

Chapter #3: Earl Opens the Workshop[edit]

Roboton: You've arrived at BetaBay. Earl says: “Buy one of me poles and start catchin' them fish-bots - I need the scrap!” Grab the Auto-Mate or Basilisk Protocol and reel in the easy bots round the dock.

Buy a Roboton pole. Either the Auto-Mate or the Basilisk Protocol.

next step:

Roboton: Earl's camped on the BetaBay dock, hip-deep in robots that mistake walls for doors. “Catch 'em all, wrangler - I need the scrap!” Every fish-bot ye reel in levels yer pole and feeds Earl's growin' scrap pile. He's got a plan to get off this beta and onto the real island - he just needs enough parts to build it.

Collect 50 robotic parts (from fishing or opening chests)
open Earl's Workshop - https://fishwrangler.com/workshop

next step:

The Unsinkable.exe unlocks after completing the following storyline... Yer pole's bitin' harder now. Keep levelin' on the BetaBay bots, then collect 50 Robot Scrap and build the Scrap Hauler at Earl's Workshop - it's yer ride off the island.

You'll need to level one of your poles to level 15.

Build Project 1 at Earl's Workshop. This will get you an Unsinkable.exe boat

Built Project 1: Scrap Hauler!
Earl: "Me best work yet! Don't look underneath though." She rolls AND floats - the Unsinkable.exe is christened and ready to haul ye across them impossible Roboton waves. Spent 50 Robot Scrap (had xxx, now xxx). Earned the Steering Cow Wheel collectible (had x, now x).

Journal entry is as follows:

With enough scrap collected, Earl sets up his Workshop - a cluttered, spark-flying mess of genius and questionable safety standards. 'She ain't pretty,' he says, 'but she's got robot guts!' The Workshop is now open. Build the Scrap Hauler to unlock the Unsinkable.exe and cross to the main island.

Chapter #4: Into the Graveyard[edit]

Voyage to CrashSite

Next Step: CrashSite is the dumping ground for everything BetaBay couldn't fix - and the bots here hit harder. Grab yer pole's next add-on to raise yer level cap, then start catchin'.

Journal entry is as follows:

Diego lands on the main island at CrashSite - the dumping ground for everything BetaBay couldn't fix. Decommissioned robots stacked on top of older decommissioned robots. Survivors hide in the rubble while scientists remain trapped in a nearby building.

The robots here are not just glitching - they are destructive. Whoever sent them here forgot to switch them off first. Diego fights through rogue machines and finds survivors hiding in the rubble. They tell him a group of scientists is trapped nearby - the only ones who know why the 'Core Code' changed.

Chapter #5: The Scientists' Secret[edit]

Level your Auto-Mate or Basilisk Protocol to pole level 55.

Build Project 2 at Earl's Workshop.

Earl: "Signal decoded! The source is SigValley. Pack yer courage." Built Project 2: Signal Decoder! The signal traces back to SigValley - and now them scrap-bots cough up 15% more Robot Scrap for ye. Spent 100 Robot Scrap (had xxx, now xxx). Earned the Vacuum Sealed Helmet collectible (had x, now x).

Journal entry is as follows:

Diego frees the trapped scientists. They reveal Sir Sigfr-AI-ed left a 'backdoor' in the code. A 'Code Injection' has turned servant robots into an army. The founder is hiding in his HQ. The signal is coming from SigValley - and it is not friendly.

Chapter #6: Big Jaw Steven and the Resistance[edit]

Voyage to SigValley

Journal entry is as follows:

SigValley is Sir Sigfr-AI-ed's HQ - a neon-lit warzone where every robot is on the bleeding edge (bleeding being the operative word). Diego meets Big Jaw Steven, leader of the Human Resistance. Together they push toward the central tower.

Big Jaw Steven has been holding the line against Sigfr-AI-ed's army for weeks. His resistance fighters are outnumbered and outgunned, but they have something the robots don't - stubborn refusal to give up. 'We don't need better tech,' Steven says, jaw jutting forward. 'We need someone dumb enough to walk into the tower.' He looks at Diego. Diego looks at his fishing pole. This is going to be interesting.

Chapter #7: The Sig Squad[edit]

  • Upgrade the Auto-Mate with a Multi-Tasking Firmware (5th add-on) OR
  • Upgrade the Basilisk Protocol with a Autonomous Decision Engine (5th add-on)
TBD - Please let us know what unlocks this journal entry. is it the add-on that expands to 80?

Catch fish in SigValley

Journal entry is as follows:

Between Diego and Sir Sigfr-AI-ed's tower stands the Sig Squad - ten elite android fish, each more dangerous than the last. From the foot-soldier P-300-Private to the mad-scientist Q-14-Labfish to the terrifying S-23-Bazooka, they form Sigfr-AI-ed's last line of defense. At their head stands Sir Threebe-AI-n, Sigfr-AI-ed's cold and efficient second-in-command. Getting past them will require catching every single one.

Chapter #8: The Big Red Button[edit]

Catch Sir Sigfr-AI-ed Fish at pole level 80 at SigValley. This is a BOSS fish so you can use the meter to reel it in.

Journal entry is as follows:

Inside the penthouse, Diego faces Sir Sigfr-AI-ed himself. 'BetaBay was just the prototype, Diego. Soon, the world will follow!' After a high-stakes battle, Sigfr-AI-ed is defeated - but the robots still rampage outside. Sigfr-AI-ed refuses to talk. Diego notices a little red button behind the desk labeled 'ACTIVATE WORLD DOMINATION BEHAVIOR: [ON]'. He presses it. The robots instantly stop fighting and go back to helping people. Peace is restored. But Sigfr-AI-ed's prison cell is empty. He has escaped.

Chapter #9: Lola Eurekstone[edit]

Travel to LostLab

next step:

Roboton: You've entered LostLab. Lola Eurekstone, lone survivor of 'The Incident,' needs the mutated fish-scientists caught - and they're the toughest yet. Grab yer next pole add-on to take 'em on.

Build Project 4: Lab Passport at Earl's Workshop

Journal entry is as follows:

With Sigfr-AI-ed defeated, Earl reveals something else he discovered while building the Workshop - evidence of a buried laboratory beneath the island that even Sigfr-AI-ed avoided. The world forgot it existed. Dr. Deceit did not. With a crafted Lab Passport from Earl's Workshop, Diego gains access to LostLab.

The facility is a ghost town - overgrown, flickering lights, abandoned tech. Inside, Diego meets Lola Eurekstone, a lone survivor. She explains 'The Incident': her team was investigating bio-robots through chemical augmentation. Dr. Deceit was the lead. The main building exploded. A strange thick smoke mutated the scientists instantly, turning them aggressive. A rescue team arrived and was also mutated. The world forgot about them. How did Lola survive? She ate very spicy wings the night before and spent the entire explosion day locked in the bathroom, which had reinforced emergency walls.

Chapter #10: TBD[edit]

Upgrade the final add-on to one of your poles.

next step:

Roboton: Pole's maxed. Catch the mutated fish-scientists and complete the Dr. Deceit Collection to unlock Dr. Peccant and Dr. Deceit himself.

Catch the high level fish in LostLab. You'll need Auto-Mate at pole level 97+ and Basilisk Protocol at pole level 93+, and one or the other at pole level 98+. Turn in the Dr. Deceit Collection.
