The Story of La Terranea consists of a total of 10 Chapters, five of which were released on April 8, 2022.

Requirements[edit]

La Terranea is in Roperia

  • Level 110 Handline and Level 110 Extendarod poles from Mermaid so you can catch the Sirene Fish. This is pretty much going through all of Mermaid Cove and leveling your poles through the Rainbow islands there. If you have already caught the Sirene Fish, you don't need to catch another.

The other requirements are:

  • Own Trash Trimmer (in Tragedy Reef - Roperian Garbage Patch).
  • Level 60+ Folsom pole
  • Unlock Subaqueous island
  • Found the Mermaid Scepter resource. (This is done by navigating your boat on the animated world map of Roperia. Manually clicking around the map. This was done by Joe to encourage wranglers to use the new Roperian animated map that so much effort was put into.)

Chapter #1: Found the Septer[edit]

Next Step: Caught Sirene - find her lost Scepter by exploring west of Mermaid Cove in an area called “Terranea”, on the world map!

Go to the world map and Click on the question mark on the map just to the left of Rainbow Ridge. There will be an animation where your boat will move there. You will then get the Scepter.

Found something on the world map! (1) Mermaid Scepter (had 0, have 1) Unlocked Chapter#1: Found the Septer!

Journal entry as follows:

Life had been rather quiet for Deckhand Deb, so she was surprised to receive a call from Dictator Danzic after searching open waters for Sirene's lost Scepter. He said there have been interesting sightings of a new continent and asked her to further explore the area. Excited to be back in her happy place, she quickly gathered her gear and hit the water with extra enthusiasm.

Deckhand Deb voyaged north of the Garbage Patch and was blown away by the beautiful day and the amazing cleanup efforts by Bipasha. Mounds of trash usually littered this coastline but for the first time in Deb's life, she could see across Plastic Island and noticed a colorful clearing in the distance.

Perhaps this was the “interesting sighting” Dictator Danzic was referring to, so Deb shifted into high gear and set off to explore a new area!

Chapter #2: Mermaid Magic[edit]

La Terranea: The Terranea rock slide has cleared! A local mermaid refuses to speak with Deckhand Deb and will only communicate with an experienced wrangler.

Talk to Mermaid

Journal entry as follows:

As Deckhand Deb comes to the edge of Rainbow Ridge, she is stopped by local mermaids who refuse to talk with a deckhand (probably due to too many poor encounters with Deckhand Diego, Dwight and Dex), and will only communicate with an experienced wrangler. Obviously I am Deb's #1 wrangler, so she gives me a call and I arrive on the scene as fast as I can. We are told to wield the Mermaid Scepter to forge ahead to Illa de Porta.

Chapter #3: Cryptic Directions[edit]

La Terranea: Wield the Mermaid Scepter to forge ahead to Illa de Porta.

Click on the Mermaid Scepter link or go to the Resources page for Mermaid Scepter. Then activate it by selecting the status from OFF to ON.

You only need to do this once.

Journal entry as follows:

The Mermaid Scepter summons Sirene who led me through Mermaid Crossing. As the water crossing narrowed, I quickly realized this boat isn't going to fit so I pulled over and looked at the pileup at the Garbage Patch. Only one type of boat is going to fit through this canal and it's a narrow gondola. Sirene handed over mystical directions on how to build the boat... Still not sure why I need snails and not nails, perhaps someone translated this wrong.

Chapter #4: Gondolier[edit]

La Terranea: Sirene hands over cryptic directions on how to build a Gondola to access the narrow passage of Terranea, Deckhand Deb believes it's calling for: 1) xx of 20 planks of Shiplap 2) xx of 30 tubes of Poo Goo 3) xx of 100 Nails or Snails?

You will need to build a Gondola. In order to do so you will need items from the other areas, namely:

  • Shiplap? You just need to own the Trash Trimmer (in Tragedy Reef - Roperian Garbage Patch) and be able to Trim the trash. If you need to do some trimming, be sure to have the Bounty Hunter License active so you don't get fined and kicked out.[1]
  • Poo Goo? You could get Poo Goo from buying them with your shells at Sig's Shell Shop or handing in collections for the Redwood Coal set. It is questionable whether you really need to have 30 tubes, but they are not hard to acquire.
  • Nails or Snails? The link points to the Nautilus Snail Fish in Subaqueous area, where it is assumed you need to catch 100 of them, but it turns out this was just a joke. You don't need to catch 100 of them. You just need to have your Folsom pole at level 60+ and have accessed the Subaqueous area.

Building my Gondola to paddle through the narrow Terranea inlet!

La Terranea: Building my Gondola to voygage through the narrow Terranea inlet! The suspense is killing me! At least I have a head start on the other aspiring wranglers trying to make a first catch here! Or do I... Only 9 mins 15 secs left of building and crafting the finest boat ever made!

It should take about 10 minutes to build. On the first day of release (April 8, 8am FVT), it was reported the delay was 23 hours to build according to Joe. This was to give late starters a chance to build it. So technically, no one was able to reach Illa de Porta until April 9 FVT.

After the time is up you will get the next option:

La Terranea: Wield your Scepter and paddle to Illa de Porta with your newly built Gondola!

Wield Scepter & paddle to Illa de Porta

You will arrive at Illa de Porta and you will have your Gondola boat.

Journal entry as follows:

Deckhand Deb and I traveled all over Roperia for the required supplies and stumbled upon a few hiccups. #1 being Deb misinterpreted 100 nails as 100 snails, so I wasted some time in Mt. Promontory; and #2 being Deb had an unfortunate incident with Poo Goo exploding all over her face (we won't get into the details about that). Most importantly, I can paddle through the narrow Terranea inlet!

Chapter #5: Illa de Porta[edit]

La Terranea: Purchase a pole fit for Terranea, La Renaissance or La Distanza, from Aunt Chovy's Snack Shack!

Go to Poles (Aunt Chovy's Snack Shack) and purchase one of the newer poles: La Renaissance or La Distanza

Journal entry is as follows:

I said my farewell to Deckhand Deb and paddled my gondola into the narrowing canal until a large inlet appeared that was unlike anything I've ever seen in dirty Roperia. It reminded me of the Mediterranean with crystal clear water and beautiful islands in the distance. As I got closer, I saw a sign for Illa de Porta and a little shop called Aunt Chovy's Snack Shack. The Snack Shack is where I'll be handing in quest dishes and purchasing one of the new sweet poles - La Renaisance or La Distanza!

Chapter #6: Time to Study[edit]

Next: Hand in Terranea Quests to Aunt Chovy's Snack Shack! Catch Ibizarene to further empower ye' Mermaid Scepter!

Journal entry as follows:

I was starting to get into my groove in Cote de Rope when everything fell apart last night. I partied too hard with the Millenials and made the terrible decision to gamble with the Cod Father. He took every dollar I had in my pocket and left me empty handed. Just when I was about to say good-bye to Terranea, I’m approached by an old-fashioned looking mermaid. She tells me her name is Persene and that I’m ready to meet the legends of the region. Just beware of the Raider of Tombs!

Chapter #8: Unlocked Legendary Secrets Quiz[edit]

La Terranea: Caught Persene, who unlocked Tomba de Legenda and warned me of the local Tomb Raider!

In Tomba de Legenda, you'll have to face the Tomb Raider, who will drop collections. Collect and hand in the Tomb Raided set to unlock the chapter.
