Chief of Cadavers
Chief of Cadavers sporadically visits wranglers fishing in Cadaver Expanse.
When making a cast and she approaches, you will see the following message:
"The Chief of Cadavers is nearby... Cadaver Expanse is home to the dangerous Chief of Cadavers..."
"What do you want to do?"
You are given 4 options:
# Stay calm and don't move.
# Take off and run.
# Offer my next few catches. (depends on Chief of Cadavers's hunger)
# Offer purified water! / Defend with Tribal Shield! (Requires level 53 Survivalist/Poacherist)/(works best with a level 55+ Survivalist/Poacherist)
The last option changes depending on which pole (Survivalist or Poacherist) you are currently using
Outcomes[edit]
Wranglers can gain or lose silver depending on the option chosen, pole level and chance at gaining collectible items. Examples of possible outcomes for choosing each option are provided below. Silver values will vary:

Choosing option 1:
- I see the Chief of Cadavers's fiery flames in the distance... (refresh!)
- Yes! The Chief of Cadavers failed to find me! Gained 322 silver from the Chief of Cadaver! Failed to get Mummy Torch!
Choosing option 2:
- The Chief of Cadavers is chasing after me... (refresh!)
- Yes! I got away and fled to a nearby location. Gained 363 silver from the Chief of Cadavers! Failed to get Golden Idol!
- No! I couldn't get away from the hot grasp of the Chief of Cadavers! Took 3,528 silver from me. (refresh!) (You will be sent back to Mosquito Run)
Choosing option 3:
- The Chief is trying to understand what I'm saying... (refresh!)
- The lovely Chief accepted the offer and is waiting for my next catch. Gained 803 silver from the Chief of Cadaver! Failed to get X !
- The lovely Chief accepted the offer and is waiting for my next catch. Gained 799 silver from the Chief of Cadaver! Found the X !
Note: Chief of Cadaver will take your next 1-3 catches (excluding crew and captain trips). You will not receive points, silver, or pole experience for these catches. You will receive quest credit for the fish if otherwise applicable. Marie, the Mad Patient, Hank, the homeless villain , or any of the other 10 villains in Farovia/Roperia will accept catches on behalf of Chief of Cadaver if you travel away.
Choosing option 4
- “I'm eyeing down the Chief with my Poacherist Pole!” (refresh!)
- "Yes! I poached the Chief with my superb Poaching abilities! Gained 323 silver from the Chief of Cadavers! Found the Tribal Mask!"
Chief of Cadaver collection[edit]
Collectables are a "glory award" / "achievement award" that wranglers can show off. There are a set of collectibles related to Chief of Cadaver, which vary in rarity.
Bongo (Fairly Rare)
"The beat of the Bongo drums chimes across the African plains."
This collectable may be randomly dropped when choosing "Take off and run" and escaping the Chief of Cadavers
Cobra Fan (Rare)
"Cool yourself from the intense heat with the Cobra Fan!"
Randomly gained after choosing "Stay calm and don't move" and successfully hiding from Chief of Cadavers
Leopard Rattle (Quite Rare)
"There is no such rattle like a Leopard Rattle!"
Randomly gained after choosing "Give my catches" and having it be accepted.
Neck Rings (Very Rare)
"Natives across the region may be seen wearing golden neck rings - a symbol of a prominent Cadaver Warrior."
Randomly gained after successfully attacking the Chief of Cadavers
Tribal Mask (Extremely Rare)
"Made out carved wood, the colorful Batik mask is a decorative piece of artwork."
Randomly gained after successfully attacking the Chief of Cadavers
Turning in the Chief of Cadaver Collection will yield access to Sepulcro del Sol & (2) Skin Cream & (1) Caffeine Pill
Tips[edit]
Use your higher level pole for your encounter with Chief of Cadavers so you have a better chance at Purifying/Defending.
Chief of Cadavers is linked to the other encounters in terms of how often he appears. If you have interacted with others and already chose an option, you should be free from encountering Chief of Cadavers for about two hours. He will collect the silver and points if you offered catches from another encounter.
Choosing the Defend option will get you chances at the later items in the collection so you can trade down to complete the set.
