Earl's Dig Rig is a place accessible from Fossil Hollow in the Bones and Holes islands.

Getting there[edit]
Go to Fossil Hollow in Roperia, and click on the Amber Shards number that is between the Chum amount and the Fish Now timer.

Community Dig[edit]
The Community Dig is a place where you can contribute your Amber Shards to unlock the next fishing areas such as Obsidian Deep and Mictlan sooner. You can contribute up to 100 Amber Shards per fishing day.

Contraptions[edit]
There are four Contraptions that can be built here. Each Contraption only needs to be built once.
Contraption 1: Bathy-Drill[edit]
Description:
- A clam-shucker and two propellers. She digs.
Requirements:
- Cost: 50 Amber Shards
Rewards when built:
- Unlocks further digging capabilities
- Unlocks chapter 4 in the Story of Bones and Holes
Successful build:
Built Contraption 1: Bathy-Drill!
Earl: "Amber in, contraption out. Earl's whole business model, right there." Built Bathy-Drill! A clam-shucker and two propellers. She digs. Spent 50 Amber Shards (had xx, now x).
Contraption 2: Magma Suit Deep Freeze[edit]
Description:
- Required to work the lava below Fossil Hollow, and it pays back amber.
Requirements:
- Cost: 100 Amber Shards
Rewards when built:
- Allows working in lava below Fossil Hollow
- Claims to be dropping more Amber Shards in Fossil Hollow, at least by the message it puts out. For example:
Found 5 Amber Shards! (Magma Suit Deep Freeze) (Had xxx, have xxx)
- Unlocks chapter 5 in the Story of Bones and Holes
Successful build:
Built Contraption 2: Magma Suit Deep Freeze!
Earl: "Built her out of what the fissure had most of. Which was bones." Built Magma Suit Deep Freeze! Required to work the lava below Fossil Hollow, and it pays back amber. Spent 100 Amber Shards (had xxx, now xxx).
Contraption 3: Jelly Seismograph[edit]
Description:
- Reads the way down to the reef floor. Bonus: 10% of the time it lands a fish your pole is up to 3 levels too low for.
Requirements:
- Cost: 150 Amber Shards
Rewards when built:
- 10% of the time, lands a fish yer pole is up to 3 levels too low for
- Unlocks chapter 6 in the Story of Bones and Holes
Successful build:
Built Contraption 3: Jelly Seismograph!
Earl: "Built her out of what the fissure had most of. Which was bones." Built Jelly Seismograph! Reads the way down to the reef floor. Bonus: 10% of the time it lands a fish your pole is up to 3 levels too low for. Spent 150 Amber Shards (had xxx, now xxx).
Contraption 4: Gem Lamp[edit]
Description:
- Lights whatever is waiting at the bottom.
Requirements:
- Catch the Golden Gemology Fish (requires pole level 44)
- Cost: 200 Amber Shards
If you collected more than 200 Amber Shards you will see the message like this:
Yer amber's already set - 212 of the 200 this needs. Ain't the amber holdin' this one back.
Rewards when built:
- Enter the Deep (Unlocks the bottom of the reef)
- Illuminates the deepest parts of Fossil Hollow
