Description: Buzz Aldrin was an engineer, astronaut, and fighter pilot. As lunar module pilot on the Apollo 11 mission, he and mission commander Neil Armstrong were the first two humans to land on the Moon. Upon leaving NASA in 1971, he became Commandant of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. He has received many honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969.
