Notes:
This is one of the 7 Clue Fish required to complete the Kranka puzzle. Catching your first Black Beardopus will unlock Clue 5 of 7.
(NOTE: Possibly Extinct population means you might catch the #6 Clue Fish first which will unlock that clue plus all prior unlocked clues.)
Also Earl requires catching 3 Black Beardopus first before building you the Grappling Cannon.
Black Beardopus Fish Quests
Executioner Cut[edit]
- Difficulty: 9/10
- Description: Like the taste of blood in your meat? Then you'll love this barely cooked filet mignon.
- Pole Requirements: Level 75 Royal Rescuer
- Rewards: 1 Liquid Gold
- Quest specific tips: This quest will take quite some time without use of Love Chum. The most efficient use of LC will be to start in Deadwater Pass and catch one Black Beardopus using the Love Chum bonus. Then sail to Krakken Rocks and catch all of the fish using regular chum. This will take a number of days. Return to Deadwater Pass and turn on LC. You will get a nice bonus as it has been a number of days since your last LC catch. Because this quest rewards a Liquid Gold you may wish to use one to catch the final Black Beardopus Fish.
An alternative method as the second fish of this quest, Northern Star Fish, requires a level 83 pole is to hold off on starting this quest until after your pole is 80+. Starting off in Krakken Rocks where the Executioner should come quick and with some luck some of the Plank will be caught by time your pole is level 83 to start catching the Northern Star and finishing off the rest of the Plank. Head to Deadwater Pass using the added quest boost (plus optional boost using LC) to catch the remaining bottleneck Black Beardopus Fish.
- Catch Requirements: 20 Executioner Fish, 15 Northern Star Fish, 8 Plank Fish, 3 Black Beardopus Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
Treasure Treat[edit]
- Difficulty: 7/10
- Description: The contents of Betsylou's Treasure dish remain a mystery.. Brave wranglers should try the special treat next time it's on the menu.
- Pole Requirements: Level 60 Pyratic Plunder
- Unlocks: Final Lure
- Quest specific tips: The Peg & Blackbeard(BB) are unique to Deadwater, so if your trying to do this fast, harness LG on the BB to finish them while working on the Pegs. While you can also catch the Robber easier in K Rocks after finishing the Pegs, keep in mind there's also more fish (23) there, 16 of which can be caught by a fully leveled pirate pole. This whole quest can be done in Deadwater Pass though as it only has 11 fish you can catch during a quest.
- Catch Requirements: 15 Peg Fish, 12 Robber Fish, 8 Swann Fish, 2 Black Beardopus Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
