  • The following entry is added to the Journal:

You scramble up the side of a simmering volcano at Wahwah Reef, lugging a tall boy of Tarpit Stout — Farovia’s finest brew. With a slightly reckless grin, you toss it into the molten flow, sending up a plume of confetti-like sparks. When the heat subsides, you mysteriously find two Aquarian poles washed ashore, along with a tattered flyer proclaiming “Aquaria: A Magical Carnival Island!”

The flyer promises a freak show, circus, food galore, and an amusement park, but something about it feels... off. The text shimmers in the light, shifting slightly as if winking at you. A scribbled note at the bottom reads: “Find me if you can... but don’t blink.”

At the Reef's edge, the poles are labeled “Ceremonial Use Only” and look like they’ve seen better days. They’ll definitely need an add-on. Still, your curiosity is piqued... and maybe your eyebrows are a little singed. What awaits beyond this carnival gateway?

Chapter #2: Bragging Rights![edit]

Journal entry is as follows:

Fresh off your volcanic revelation, you clutch the new Aquarian poles—surprisingly cheap but strangely compelling. Word around the Reef is that there's a new fishing challenge, promising “bragging rights and a sturdy back brace” to anyone who conquers the Aquaria Tournament.

The rules? Four mafia bosses have taken control of Aquaria’s four districts, each running their own twisted version of carnival attractions. To reclaim the carnival spirit, you’ll have to outwit, outmaneuver, and out-fish them one by one.

Yet, something doesn’t add up. Even the locals who have spent their whole lives in Aquaria seem uncertain about its history. Who built this carnival? Who wrote the tournament rules? And why do glimpses of neon confetti and vanishing lights keep appearing just beyond your sight?

The only way to get answers? Win the tournament… and maybe keep an eye out for whatever (or whoever) is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Chapter #3: Jump Number Journey[edit]

You can jump to one of the four areas. Select one and buy their pole upgrades. To "complete" the area, you must defeat the multi-pole boss for that area. That will enable you to go to another area. You can always go back to areas you've already jumped to.

Part #1: Funtopia's Big-Top Bonanza[edit]

Travel to Funtopia

Aquaria: Funtopia's rides once spun at reasonable speeds until Squidtea Cuppa steeped his tentacles in the amusement park business. Now every teacup ride is a dizzying nightmare, and the cotton candy tastes suspiciously like Cousin Earl Grey. The carnival barkers, their faces green from mandatory tea consumption, have secretly reached out to you—the only wrangler brave enough to challenge the tea-obsessed tyrant!
Upgrade your Aquarian poles with the Whirlyjig Wonder & Colorful Streamers or you'll be swimming with his previous challengers.

Purchase the Whirlyjig Wonder and Colorful Streamers add-ons to your poles.

Take the time to level up both poles to their max for that jump.

Catch the Squidtea Cuppa Boss Fish in Funtopia. This is a multi-pole fish that requires both poles to be level jump#x10+10 and higher each. Start with one pole to catch it, then switch to the other one to finish it off.

Journal entry is as follows:

At last, you step into Funtopia, an over-the-top amusement park where carnival rides sparkle, clownfish sport glow sticks, and the air smells suspiciously of over-brewed tea. The neon signs promise “Fun Guaranteed!”, but the uneasy expressions on the carnival barkers say otherwise.

The true master of ceremonies here is Squidtea Cuppa, a tentacled tyrant with an unnatural obsession with tea. Under his rule, the teacup rides have become dizzying torture chambers, and the cotton candy has an aftertaste of Earl Grey. His influence stretches from the highest Ferris wheel to the deepest dunk tank. If you want to end his reign of tea-ranny, you'll need the Whirlyjig Wonder and Colorful Streamers to outmaneuver his swirling chaos.

With Squidtea Cuppa steeped out of power, Funtopia finally settles down. The carnival barkers breathe a sigh of relief, and the rides slow to a reasonable speed. Best of all, the cotton candy finally tastes like sugar instead of chamomile.

Part #2: Festivia's Circus of Chaos[edit]

Travel to Festivia

The street performers of Festivia whisper about a time before balloon animals became extortion tools. Don Balloonioni and his red-striped gang have squeezed the joy out of this once-vibrant circus hub, demanding 'protection money' for every juggling act and cotton candy sale. The carnival needs a hero with the right equipment to pop his bubble of tyranny! Your only chance is to outmaneuver him with the Acrobatic Weave & Carousel Crank addons before his balloon family makes you disappear.

Purchase the Acrobatic Weave and Carousel Crankadd-ons for your poles.

Take the time to level up both poles to their max for that jump.

Catch the Don Balloonioni Boss Fish in Festivia. This is a multi-pole fish that requires both poles to be level jump#x10+10 and higher each. Start with one pole to catch it, then switch to the other one to finish it off.

Journal entry is as follows:

Welcome to Festivia, a riot of color and confetti where no one seems to follow the posted rules... especially the ones forbidding cake throwing or late-night clowning. Street performers balance on stilts while dodging flying sea urchins, and a towering circus tent boasts “The World's Most Extraordinary Fish Catcher.” Strangely, the sign’s arrow points to a clueless carny kid labeled “In Training,” as if the real champion never showed up.

But the laughter hides a darker reality. Don Balloonioni and his red-striped gang have squeezed every drop of joy from Festivia, demanding “protection fees” from every juggling act and cotton candy sale. Rumor has it that troublemakers mysteriously “float away” if they cross him. You’ll need the Acrobatic Weave and Carousel Crank addons to pop this balloon tyrant’s racket and restore Festivia’s spirit.

With Don Balloonioni caught, Festivia breathes easier. The balloon animals look a little less menacing, and for the first time in ages, the clowns are throwing cakes instead of punches.

Part #3: The Culinary Quest in Gourmetia[edit]

Travel to Gourmetia

Gourmetia was once a culinary paradise where food stalls competed fairly for the tastiest carnival treats. Then Turtleger Chef muscled his way in with his shell-backed enforcers. Now every recipe requires his 'special approval' (and a hefty fee), while independent vendors mysteriously become ingredients in his “Epic Feast for Neptune.” A desperate coalition of funnel cake artisans has secretly commissioned you to reel in this culinary criminal before the entire food court becomes his personal fiefdom.

Fully upgrade your gear with the Funnel Cake Fluff & Gastro Grill or risk becoming the special of the day.

Purchase the Funnel Cake Fluff and Gastro Grill add-ons for your poles.

Take the time to level up both poles to their max for that jump.

Catch the Turtleger Chef Boss Fish in Gourmetia. This is a multi-pole fish that requires both poles to be level jump#x10+10 and higher each. Start with one pole to catch it, then switch to the other one to finish it off.

Journal entry is as follows:

Following the scent of sizzling spices and funnel cake, you find yourself in Gourmetia, the heart of Aquaria’s culinary scene. Vendors line the streets, offering delicacies ranging from caramelized krill to “experimental” seafood tacos. But despite the vibrant aromas, something feels off. The food vendors look anxious, glancing over their shoulders as if waiting for someone to approve their recipes.

The reason? Turtleger Chef, the self-proclaimed emperor of Gourmetia’s kitchens. Every dish, every ingredient, every secret sauce must receive his “special approval”—for a price. Those who refuse? They tend to disappear... only for their names to turn up on the menu of his infamous “Epic Feast for Neptune.”

If you want to stop Gourmetia from becoming his personal buffet, you’ll need to fully upgrade your pole with the Funnel Cake Fluff and Gastro Grill to lure out this culinary crime lord.

With Turtleger Chef out of the kitchen, Gourmetia’s vendors are finally free to cook without fear. The food stalls bustle with renewed energy, and the only thing on the menu now is delicious, mafia-free cuisine.

Part #4: Strange Wonders in Mysteria[edit]

Travel to Mysteria.

The Ancient Mariner remembers when the freakshow was about wonder, not fear. That was before Capo the Centipeel slithered in, turning every sideshow into a front for his underwater rackets. His newspaper — 'The Daily Bubble' — prints only what he approves, and his cigar smoke has turned the once-colorful bioluminescent displays a murky gray. The carnival fortune teller has foreseen your arrival as Mysteria's potential liberator... if you're properly equipped for the challenge.
Every newspaper in his tentacles contains secrets that could sink you — upgrade your gear with the Masquerade Mask & Siamese Twinbeard to outsmart him.

Purchase the Masquerade Mask and Siamese Twinbeard add-ons for your poles.

Take the time to level up both poles to their max for that jump.

Catch the Capo the Centipeel Boss Fish in Mysteria. This is a multi-pole fish that requires both poles to be level jump#x10+10 and higher each. Start with one pole to catch it, then switch to the other one to finish it off.

Journal entry is as follows:

Leaving behind Funtopia’s neon chaos, you step into Mysteria, a shadowy realm where masked townsfolk wander the streets in eerie silence. The air hums with the glow of bioluminescent lanterns, casting long, shifting shadows that make it hard to tell where reality ends and illusion begins. A battered sign advertises a “Freakshow Cage”—its warnings half-scratched out, as if someone didn’t want the truth to be read.

The underworld here is ruled by Capo the Centipeel, a cigar-smoking crime boss with a stranglehold on Mysteria’s information flow. His newspaper, The Daily Bubble, only prints what he approves, and those who step out of line mysteriously disappear from its pages—and from Mysteria itself. If you want to free this district from his ink-stained grip, you'll need the Masquerade Mask and Siamese Twinbeard to outmaneuver his vast intelligence network.

With Capo the Centipeel captured, Mysteria’s newspaper stands finally print real news instead of coded messages for the undersea mafia. The carnival’s eerie glow feels a little brighter… for now.

Chapter #4: The Final Champion[edit]

After defeating the four bosses from the four areas, you will unlock this chapter.

Journal entry is as follows:

The Aquaria Tournament sign promised bragging rights and a sturdy back brace, but nobody mentioned having to take down four crime families to earn it. With Don Balloonioni's extortion racket burst, Squidtea Cuppa's tea-stained empire dried up, Capo the Centipeel’s news monopoly dismantled, and Turtleger Chef's grip on Gourmetia broken, the tournament is nearly complete.

But as you step forward to claim victory, a gust of neon confetti swirls past. A faint chuckle echoes through the carnival streets. The tournament board flickers for a moment, revealing a single, flashing phrase:

“One Challenger Remains.” Whether he is real or illusion, fish or fable, the final test is clear. Find the Carnival King... if he lets you.

Legends speak of a flamboyant fish who haunts the carnival waters of Aquaria like a rogue ringleader with a bottomless top hat. It’s said that from this enchanted hat, he conjures an endless parade of items… anything to distract and bewilder those who seek him.

Rumor has it he moves with the grace of a circus acrobat, leaving behind a trail of neon confetti and whimsical illusions that vanish as soon as you blink. Try as they might, anglers find him impossible to corner; he’s perpetually one trick ahead, as if the entire undersea realm is his stage.

The tournament promised an ultimate challenge. If he isn’t the real final test, then what is?

Chapter #5: Showdown with the Carnival King[edit]

Aquaria: The Aquaria Tournament committee has taken notice! With Festivia, Funtopia, Mysteria, and Gourmetia freed from their crime families, you've proven yourself as Aquaria’s top contender. The Carnival King is the last fish standing between you and the championship.

If you haven't already done so, catch the Carnival King Fish, which can only get caught in a Night Fishing party in one of the Aquaria areas.

If you haven't caught Carnival King and tried to "Accept the Prize", you will get the message:

Error Catch the Carnival King first!

After "Accept the Prize" https://fishwrangler.com/my?aq=accept-grand-prize you will get the prize and a message that looks like:

You've accepted the Grand Prize! You've been awarded 100 Free Love Chum (had xxx, have FLC)!

Journal entry is as follows:

As the sun dipped below the horizon, you plunged into the Aquarian Darkness while Night Fishing.

Suddenly, a flash of light unlike any other pierced the darkness. The Carnival King emerged from the depths. His ancient eyes seemed to peer into your very soul.

Awe warred with fear. This wasn't just a fish; it was a legend, a guardian of Aquaria's magic.

You cast the Weave, but the King effortlessly weaved through. Undeterred, you activated the Grill. The aroma of exotic spices, a symphony of cardamom and ginger, wafted through the water. The King, drawn by the irresistible scent, swam closer.

With a swift movement, the cage snapped shut, not with force, but with a gentle hum. The King didn't struggle, but instead, regarded you with an enigmatic smile.

“You have proven worthy,” his voice boomed, “ask your wish.”

You knew riches and fame paled in comparison. Your true wish resonated with the spirit of Aquaria.

“I wish,” you declared, “to share the wonders of Aquaria with all anglers, just as I have.”

The King chuckled, a sound like waves crashing on a sun-drenched beach. “A worthy wish indeed,” he said. “It shall be so.”

With a flick of his tail, he vanished, leaving behind a trail of shimmering rubber chickens. You knew then that your wish had been granted, and that the magic of Aquaria would forever be etched in the hearts of anglers everywhere.

As you surfaced, the cheers of the Waterportfolk erupted, welcoming you back with open arms and a sturdy back brace. You had not only caught the most magnificent fish in Aquaria, but you had unlocked its greatest treasure - the ability to share its wonders with the world. And so, armed with your stories and unforgettable experiences, you returned to the Wahwah Coaster, forever changed by the magic of the Carnival King. The end.
