Sonar Pulverizer Quests

Below is a list of the quests available for the Sonar Pulverizer. Before starting on these quests, it is advised to have learned the skill of The Secrets of Farovia since you will need it in order to catch some of the quest fish.

Also, if you have not started fishing in Icelantica yet, it is suggested you only complete the first two or three quests and hold off on the remainder until after you've done so. If you cast less than 30 times per day, any quest above the second or third could take a month or longer to complete.

Bloomin Munchies

(Difficulty: 1/10)
Deep fried onion rings. Great snack when you have the munchies!
Pole Req: Level 20 Sonar Pulverizer

Quest specific tips: This is probably one of the easiest, if not the easiest, quest up to now. All of the fish in this quest are Fairly Prolific in population (2nd most common) for Blue Crescent. The Suave Fish has an attractant: Hair Gel, too. Probably your only obstacles will be catching a few Azul Fish along the way, as they are also Fairly Prolific. Also, you will probably catch some Toro Fish (another Fairly Prolific fish in the area) , unless you decide to use the Red Blanket repellent. If your Sonar Pulverizer is significantly leveled, you may also catch the odd higher level fish.

Your goal is to get the 6 Tiger Shark Fish first. Since none of the fish in this quest have a chum preference, RLC or Fish Guts are your best bets. While picking off the Tiger Shark Fish, you will most likely get all, or almost all, of the Sapphire Shark Fish and Suave Fish. If not, head over to Sig's Shell Shoppe and pick up the number of Munchies and Hair Gel you will need to finish them off. This quest could easily take as little as the minimum 18 casts (no fooling!), but more likely you will average around 30-50 casts.

Shark Nuggets

(Difficulty: 3/10)
Juicy fish nuggets with a crispy golden outside.
Pole Req: Level 30 Sonar Pulverizer
Unlocks: Robo Jet Propeller

Quest specific tips: As with the first quest, three of the four fish in this quest are Fairly Prolific in population (2nd most common) for Blue Crescent. Again, the Suave Fish has attractants (Hair Gel). Antifreeze Protein has a 50% attraction rating for the Very Rare Red Diablo Shark Fish (there are some reports that this effect may not be working in the game yet, so your mileage may vary). None of the fish have a chum preference.

Since the Red Diablo Shark Fish is the rarest of the four, this should be your priority even when using Antifreeze Protein. With RLC or Fish Guts turn on the Antifreeze Protein, if you have it. Do not be discouraged if your actual percentage of Red Diablo Shark Fish catches is less than 50%, like with most things, luck is a factor. Some have also turned on K9 Pheromone to also repel the chances of getting a Tiger Shark Fish in the hopes of boosting the effectiveness of the Antifreeze Protein.

While catching your Red Diablo Shark Fish, you will more than likely catch all of the remaining fish in your quest (don't forget to turn off your Antifreeze Protein once you have caught all the Red Diablo Shark Fish for your quest). If not, the Toro Fish and the Azul Fish should be the next ones on your list and at this point you have a couple of options:

1. If you have caught all of your Suave Fish, as well: turn on the Chilli Sauce to repel them to focus on your other remaining quest fish.
2. If you still have Suave Fish left to catch: keep fishing for the remaining fish as you have so far.

Once you have caught all of your Toro Fish and still need to catch any amount of the two remaining - you can turn on Red Blanket in order to repel the remaining Toro Fish. Remember, if you are using attractants/repellents - only two are allowed to be on at any given time. Of the three you can repel; Suave Fish, Tiger Shark Fish and Toro Fish - the last two have the lower point and gold values - so, repelling those two would be more point and gold effective.

After all of that, if you still have Suave Fish remaining, turn off any attractants/repellents still on (if you used any) and turn on Hair Gel to finish up.

With attractants/repellents, this quest should only take about 30-40 casts. Without, upwards 100.

Fish Wrap

(Difficulty: 5/10)
White fish, sweet sauce and vegetables wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla.
Pole Req: Level 40 Sonar Pulverizer
Unlocks: Robo Magnet

Quest specific tips: The Toro Fish and the Tiger Shark Fish will be fairly easy to get and will come quickly, so you may use Fish Guts for this. You may also decide to use Red Blanket to repel the Toros after catching all the needed ones, and K9 Pheromone to repel Tiger Sharks after catching them - or even a combination of both to slightly increase your chances of catching the remaining Dr. Deceit. Use your Crazy Pill attractants to catch the remaining Scitzo Shark Fish. Then to finish the quest, use your Red Love to catch the Dr Deceit Fish if it is still left. This quest should take about 100-200 casts if using Crazy Pill attractants.

Alternatively, you may choose not to use the attractant (since they're pretty expensive) and fish normally for Scitzo Sharks. You will most likely catch the Dr Deceit before finishing the Scitzo Sharks. Switch to Generic Chum once that happens, since this is the preferred chum for the Scitzo Sharks. (The reason why using Generic Chum from the start is not advisable is due to the low catch rate of it). This quest may take 250-300 casts without using attractants.

Seafood Stirfry

(Difficulty: 6/10)
Asian style seafood dish served with spicy vegetables and rice. Drizzled with a gingery soy sauce.
Pole Req: Level 50 Sonar Pulverizer
Unlocks: Insane Robo Fish

Quest specific tips: You can use Antifreeze protein attractants to catch the Red Diablo Shark Fish and the Holy Water attractant for the Joan of Arc Fish although if you don't have the resources it can be very expensive. Dr Deceit and the Razor Shark are a little more difficult. Neither of them prefer any type of chum so use Red love Chum to get a 1.5 boost. You may choose to repel the Toros and Tiger Sharks by using the Red Blanket or K9 Pheromone (or both) to slightly increases your chances of catching the other fish. RLC is the best chum choice for finishing Dr. Deceit and Razor Sharks. This quest can take about 300-400 casts.

Surf and Turf

(Difficulty: 8/10)
Combination of the finest meat caught in Farovia. The ultimate dish for a hungry wrangler!
Pole Req: Level 60 Sonar Pulverizer

Rewards: 1 Liquid Gold first time only
Quest specific tips: This quest is hard. The Rock Fish is one of the rarest fish in the game (there are many wranglers who have cast over 1500 times with RLC without catching one), and the Chainsaw Marlin Fish is another "Possibly Extinct" fish which may take many casts to collect as well. The Rock Fish prefers Cayenne, but you may not want to use that right from the start due to the lower catch rate compared to Fish Guts, Loaf and Steak. Steak Chum is a good option, since it is the preferred chum of the Chainsaw Marlin, and has a decent catch rate. RLC will still give the overall best results, since you will not have as many miscasts with it and it will still provide a bonus to the rare fish (all 3 rare fish in this quest will get a 50% bonus from RLC). For wranglers not using RLC, you may want to switch to using Cayenne Chum once you finish the other fishes, but note again that the catch rate is only about 75% even with a level 80/80 pole, based on wrangler experience. It is possible to use repellents to slightly increase your chances, the same way as in the previous quest. This quest may take 500-1500+ casts depending on how lucky you are in catching the Rock Fish or whether you have any Liquid Gold that can be harnessed.

One approach to this quest is to not buy the upgrades past level 60 before completing this quest as it will introduce additional fish and possibly increase the number of casts required. However, note that the next quest requires a level 70 pole, and the Sonar Pulverizer levels slowly, so you may want to augment your pole before finishing this quest, in order to start the next one immediately.

Sugar Cookies

(Difficulty: 10/10)
Chewy cookies that will put a smile on any kid's face.
Pole Req: Level 70 Sonar Pulverizer

Rewards: 2 Liquid Gold first time, 1 Liquid Gold afterwards
Quest specific tips: This quest may surprisingly be easier than the previous quest. The "bottleneck" fish for this quest may either be the Purpy Fish or the Bat Fish. The tactic is simple again, use your best chum, Fish Guts or RLC. The 3 hardest fish benefit from the RLC bonus, and Liquid Gold can be used to catch the single Matador Fish or remaining Purpy Fish and Bat Fish. It is also possible to use repellents to slightly increase your chances, the same way as in the previous quest. This quest may take about 800-1200+ casts.

This quest can be attempted in Blue Caldera as all the quest fish are available with different population distribution.

SBQ3 - Blue Crescent

SUPER BONUS QUEST!

(Difficulty: 20/10)
The Super Bonus Quest of Blue Crescent requires Farovian Wrangler's to catch an unholy number of the rarest fish in town! Not for beginners
Pole Req: Level 80 Sonar Pulverizer , Level 80 Steam Powered Hydro-pole
Rewards: 80 FLC (first-time only), 3 Liquid Gold, 10 Mystery Tackle Boxes
Quest specific tips: In order to start the quest a wrangler must complete the quest sets for both the Sonar Pulverizer and the Steam Powered Hydro-pole. Start with the SPH-p to use the Quest boost for the first two fish, switching only if you feel bored to try the other two fish. This quest can take up to 19,000+ casts.

If you plan to work on these in Blue Caldera, you can catch Sea Crocodile and Striped Diablo with the Electric Hydro (stealth for hydro-pole) and the Purpy Fish with Nuclear Pulverizer (stealth for Sonar). However, you will have to go back to the Blue Crescent in order to catch the Razor Sharks with the Sonar.
Starting Requirements: 120,000 Gold, 12 Vial of Bile, and 6 Cheap Perfume
Special Quests require various resources to start because BetsyLou's new boyfriend on the side is an aspiring wrangler and needs some help getting started with gold and a variety of other delightful resources!

Nuclear Pulverizer quests

Secret Cookies

SECRET QUEST!

(Difficulty: 10/10)
It's not on the 'menu', but Betsy will make it if you ask for it.
Pole Req: Level 0 Nuclear Pulverizer

Rewards: Auto-Fish for 12 hrs
Quest specific tips: In order to start this quest, you must have unlocked the stealth skill of the Sonar Pulverizer. The first fish can be caught in either Blue Crescent or Blue Caldera, although it has a slightly better habitat in Blue Caldera so should be easier to catch there. With a habitat of Almost Extinct, the Matador will still come slowly. The rest of the fish will all be caught in Blue Caldera anyway, so suggested to just fish in Blue Caldera the entire time to knock off some of the other fish as you are working on the first Matador fish. The next two fish, Oi Sir and Hitchhiker, will be the easiest to catch in this quest as both have a Rare habitat. Wranglers should have caught all of the Hitchhiker's before they finish the first two fish in this quest. The same with the DiCarprio, only needing 3 with a habitat of Very Rare. The final three (Rock, Anti, and Wels) needed in this quest are all PE (possibly extinct) and any one of them could be your bottle neck fish. Unless you have not fully leveled up your stealth Nuclear Pulverizer, in which case it will likely be the last Wels.
