• Post #1 Fixed fish weights not changing when using Love Chum, was bug from changing how Rainbow quests are weight based. Using a fishes preferred chum (or Love Chum in Rainbow levels) will result in bringing out fish twice as heavy.

Continuing artwork and storyline for next series of levels titled "Breakfast Bay", which includes many yummy looking breakfast food/fish. :)

Continuing work on Breakfast Bay.. going to improve daily logs to show pole leveling and implement some user suggestions.. :)

• Post #2 Fixed night fishing leaderboards, caching issues caused them to not properly display your teams class rankings.. Your party name will be in green now, so it's easy to see in the list. Will take few hours for caching issues to clear up.

Fixed couple auto-equip pole for tourny issues..

Planning on adding in leveling to your daily summary so you can see where leveling was gained (regular trips, dh, crew, tournament)..

• Post #3 Fixed text overflow issue on mobile, when viewing quests.

Fixed Krakken Rocks bug with catching swann and having it reset the krankaaa.

• Post #4 Added ability to search skippers log messages.. long overdue.. just go to skippers log :fw/notifications you'll see search box at top.

• Post #5 Sandy just realized you don't need to apply sun screen at night while night fishing.. yikes. The final addons offer unlimited schpritzing though.. adjusted Rainbow Ridge release date to Feb 20th.. matches addon release time.

• Post #6 Your chum list will be ordered by when you last activated it.. not sure why this was never done?

Chum suggestions upon traveling will be displayed, even if you're using Love Chum.

• Post #7 I greatly improved browser caching of fish catch images.. we were always verifying that players could see a specific image and not allowing them to be cached.. I think the increase in speed and decrease in data usage is worth it.. You shouldn't really see fish catch images loading after you've caught them.

• Post #8 Quests now auto-activate when equipping a pole. Just re-activate a quest or make a quest catch for this to be stored.. You'll notice it says "quest" instead of "quests" next to the pole in the pole list on the main page (if it's linked to a quest).

Added pole leveling details and tournament casts to the summary log.. Planning on adding night fishing results to it too.. doesn't make sense that it's not in there.

• Post #9 Everyones getting tournament points reduced today Feb 11th.. it'll be back to normal on the 12th.. Bug caused catches to be equally reduced in value, twice.

Going to remove turn around link, when you get whisked away.. Removing suggested pole when you auto-equip for tourny..

Adding in suggested pole/chum when traveling and you have a countdown displayed in header.. and when you don't have a suggested pole equipped.

• Post #1 Just released option to do FAST CAST in tournaments.. instantly does 15 casts, fades in what you caught.. added in rarirty colors, so it's clear when you make a great catch.. Feels laggy to me, still not sure why.. tested many variations.. not loving feature as much as I had hoped, haha.. will await feedback and some use.. I think it's more useful with MTB's which take time for their magic to regenerate upon opening..

Anyways, no harm.. let me know your thoughts. ;)

• Post #3 We're continuing work on Breakfast Bay.. getting closer to art completion. Going to try to squash some bugs today.

In other personal news, I've had a weird cold for about 19 days now.. I started heavily watching the news / stock market.. basically led to lack of sleep and me getting my first anxiety attack.. I've had a history of pneumonia and just saw Kirra nearly die from it 3 months ago... which I've had to come to grips with still. I've chilled out, but still have high blood pressure and some shortness of breath. We've been socially distancing ourselves for about 12 days ago, just for peace of mind and for the health of others.

Anyways, maybe this is a terrible idea, and it won't go anywhere.. but I thought it'd be nice to have a spot where any faintly positive news on this current covid-19 situation could be shared. I know it's few and far between, but there are some bright spots. Can be anything uplifting / positive vibes.. or even something like how Goldman Sachs' said they think the death rate is only 2% and mainly in older compromised people, and how it is showing signs of seasonality.. I think is better than just hearing 3.5% rate and no seasonality. I want people to listen to state and local authorities.. I think shutting everything down is a step in the right direction for the time being. <3

• Post #6 Fixed issue with needed quest catches display wrong numbers, after making a catch (in the blue box that says Need: _________).

• Post #7 Rare rewards from MTB's should show up in your skippers log again.

Ancient Mariner only charging red sharks for how many he can fast open. Fast opens only work when you have a fishing wait time.

When starting a DH bonus, you'll see which areas you should avoid in the popup alert message.

• Post #9 Fixed issue of when an inactive friend you sent fishing, comes back and uses up their SKIP's.. message should be saved in skippers log. This bug could have effected other random messages that stopped showing up in Skipper's Log.

I'm going to make a special sale for Aussies/others who've had their currencies whacked.. saw several users posting about this, I'll try to code something to check which country you're in and give you a little extra love based on this all.

Coding in something to verify all accounts are in the correct storyline position within Icelantica->Sigs->Parribea after the Swann contest may have tweaked things..

Current auth issues seem to be happening on Chrome for windows.. still trying to debug this and see what exact issues are.. if you know of someone having problems sending MTB's, have them send in a SS to: fishwrangler.support@gmail.com

• Post #12 Chrome v80 on Facebook broke samesite cookies for a small number of people, v81 will break it for even more, and later versions permanently.. Facebook is working on fix now for 2 weeks:

Temporary fix is to disable samesite setting here: chrome://flags/#same-site-by-default-cookies

Thanks for all the patience.. hopefully I can make a solid workaround shortly now that I know the exact issue.

• Post #13 Updated mystery tackle crates based on user feedback.

You now pick when you want to open it. Added in several new secret luck additions.. going to add more in coming week.

Added in accept + send back option for MTB's.

• Post #14 Added in option to send personalized message along with MTB.. only available when doing a regular send back.. if you accept+send, it won't give you option for message.

Added in option to instantly message people via your crew page, just click the little "Msg?" link at top, and you can quickly message friends within FW.. the old facebook messaging option is basically gone.. you can still try to message someone via facebook by clicking the "Msg?" on their profile page.

• Post #1 First, I'd like to congratulate myself on reaching 4,000 days seen.. I spotted the pop up and my name in header and felt pretty sweet for a few minutes. :fw!

Added in some new secret Mystery Tackle Crate multipliers for fun, in celebration of course! Hopefully people start liking the feature more, as the feedback given was very helpful. Thanks again for the constructive critique. You guys help make this game what it is.

Diego, our artist, is still crankin away on some epic pole addons for Breakfast Bay.. the quests and fish images are complete. <3

• Post #2 Also, I made changes to glow worm and rum usage luck modifiers for the MTC.. if you arrive just before midnight from night fishing, you should be able to have that luck carry over the next day.. then say if you don't use a GW/Rum next day, you shouldn't receive that luck on the next MTC.. (hopefully thats how it works..)

• Post #3 Redesigned layout of tournament box.. nicely shows main action at top of it.. like quick switching to location, then how many casts left.. then if finished, switching back to location. Was meaning to clean this up for awhile.

• Post #4 Still tweaking luck multipliers for MTC.. using free love chum will count for boost now too.

Using red sharks for fast opens now counts too, towards red shark usage/luck multiplier.

• Post #6 Fixed several MTC issues.. please keep on reporting any issues with them.. MTC streak resetting is most concerning/confusing to me as of now.

Released new and improved kelpie and tarpit formulas! ;)

• Post #7 Just auto-corrected any accounts that had bugged progress in Icelantica/Sigs/Parribea.

If your account was effected you should see a header notification and skipper log message like:

A bug during the Swann contest effected your account. We auto-corrected your Icelantica progress with your last catch being the Karma. (Error#45.23)

or

A bug during the Swann contest effected your account. We auto-corrected your Icelantica progress with finding the Lovely Snow Shoes. (Error#45.17)

I'm also going to be fixing thousands of old accounts with unfortunate broken progress.. many users apparently caught the Reigning Ice, never got credit and were stuck in Icelantica thereafter, never reported it and left game silently. This is why I really really appreciate users reporting bugs, as many passive players never do and just leave. It's also why I try giving 30-50 RLC for bug reports that I feel would go unreported and break account progress.. I'm basically after these rare bugs.

Anyways, I've fixed all of these issues that caused these problems years ago. Maybe when they come back things will be smoother now. :)

• Post #8 Fixed issue with some players getting broken pages after fishing.. was caused from the game trying to credit billion point polaroid.. if you get a broken page, where some of the game loads, and reset doesn't.. and it keeps happening, let us know.. it's different than a white page, where the request never gets through the hoops.

Fixed issue with forum names showing up as "N/A".

We're finishing final artwork of Breakfast Bay along with Lucy Snyder's storyline. Hoping to release it shortly after that's all completed.. <3

• Post #2 If you completed a mutation mix analysis, on a multi-pole fish, and are trying to purchase an addon for the opposite pole.. it will now properly show if you did that mix on the other pole... and let you buy the addon.

Wow, does that sound confusing or what?

• Post #3 Sped up leveling on the Remediator and Deputy poles by 50%, as Roperian Garbage Patch has been released for over a year. You may see a sudden increase in these pole levels, and after purchasing an addon you may experience instant leveling to next level. ;)

• Post #1 After months of work, finally ready for Breakfast to be served tomorrow AM of course!

• Post #2 Fixed issues with leaderboards not displaying correct roperian trip rank.

Fixed tournament leaderboard position on main tournament page (where it displays your season rank - should now be correct and updated every 6 hours or so)

Improved quests so you cannot activate a quest you haven't "accepted".. this caused contribution %'s to be off / hidden..

Added an additional web server, to see if we handle todays surge better. The last two releases caused many white pages, due to the huge surge in players fishing at a specific release time.. (Fixed issue where special bonuses were disappearing about 5 min ago.. let me know of any other issues/oddities, if any with this change)

• Post #1 Paid out prior few months of $25 Red Lust catch payments, congrats to those who've made the rare catch!

Added in "Are you sure?" confirmation upon deleting profile prize messages.

Talking with hosting company to upgrade our database server, as the last release didn't go too smooth, even with 2 web servers.. one idea I have is randomly staggering each release, based on your ID.. letting in another 10% of players every minute after release.. it'd help disperse the load, as I feel even doubling the database power, still won't help reduce all white pages during releases..

• Post #2 Server company is allowing us to upgrade database to be twice as big, without any penalty on previous contract. I'll be doing that tomorrow.. outage estimate will be noted in header.

• Post #3 Starting database upgrade process... we will be down for maintenance between 1pm-3pm FVT on ~7/27.. I'll run night fishing after, just make sure you're in the correct location for night fishing.

• Post #4 Pushing back server maintenance to Monday August 3rd 1pm-4pm and pushed all upcoming Breakfast Bay addon releases back 1 week, so more people can be caught up and eventually test our surge capacity on a new 2x database server.

• Post #1 Completed scheduled database upgrade! Should hopefully be very smooth from here on out! :)

I accidentally added BB to the tournament list for New Farovia, and changed the schedule half way through the day today.. so you can complete today's tournament, however your results will be removed.

Sorry for bringing up FW a few seconds early.. should all be good now.

• Post #2 Pushed back release of final 2 Breakfast Bay addons, due to the new difficult quests.

• Post #3 Limited night fishing consecutive day display to 5, which is when you receive max gold multiplier bonus for night fishing with a full crew anyways. The feature never really turned out the way I wanted, especially with how night fishing would break a lot back in the day.. and with how some players get upset with losing the streak. If you are over 6+ consecutive days, your count will keep going.. if you're ever reset to 0, it'll max out at 5. I've removed the public display of this count, so it's less important.

• Post #4 Now displaying everyones join dates to a night fishing party, and the creation date of the party.

Also added in an "A-boat Us" section for your night fishing party, to display publicly. Thanks for all the feedback on this.. still considering party logos..

• Post #1 Tournament schedule preview has been corrected to match the actual tournament schedule!

"New Roperia" / "New Farovia" tournaments should now properly check your pole requirements and display correct pole levels. I believe it was previously cached, showing super old pole level data.

• Post #2 Open Sea, Liquid Gold fish in Treasure Chests, and Shuttling Fish now count for "1st catches" in MTC's. :) Thanks for reports.

• Post #3 Pushed back release of final breakfast bay addons by 5 days.. should give more people a chance to level up each pole.

• Post #4 The Sir Threebean requirement is to complete all Sipper Quests OR Disher Quests.. and then the typical maxed out multi-pole requirement. Updated it's "how to catch" description with this clarification.

• Post #6 Updated quest database so you can now catch over 4096lb of a quest requirement. Was an issue with Holliwhale req, not getting updated.

• Post #7 Based on user feedback, I've tweaked special bonuses. You should have higher chances at a quest bonus when doing a SBQ, or when in Breakfast Bay (where there are more grueling quests). Should be impacted in all spots you find special bonuses (MTB's, MTC's, Treasures).

Treasures may also now display multiple special bonuses. It was previously limited to 1 and sometimes rarely 2 at most.

• Post #8 Added auto search to new forum posts with less than 5 posts, to search for similar posts.. might occasionally help people and bring awareness to other threads.

• Post #9 Wranglers have noticed an influx of Finstrong in Monsoon Lagoon.

If you're in a night fishing party, you can now easily see what parties your friends are in + search other parties.. which previously required you to quit your party to see.

• Post #3 You should now be able to ajax activate chum/pole/resource after being away for a couple hours.. it'd often give wranglers an auth error. ;)

• Post #4 If you click on a link and get forwarded to authenticate, you will be forwarded back to the original link you tried going to after authenticating.. (would bother me when clicking on forum links via mobile phone and losing link)

Also, not sure why you want to do this, but you can play on apps.facebook.com via a mobile device. Before it'd forward you to a broken FB page..

• Post #7 I've been working a ton this week on new levels features and tried adding contest on top of a fish that unlocks the start to the new level.

The first catch of a fish that unlocks storyline, doesn't count towards a contest.. it counts towards the storyline.

I use to just release contests and fish without warning, it was much easier. I've tried adapting different parts of game like a single new fish, to an old level, that's a part of a contest and storyline, and it went off with issues.

Anyways, I know many are upset. I'm trying my best.. the new level should release just fine as that sort of release has already been thoroughly tested.

Going to fix broken pole bug now.

Fixed issue with first catch on a storyline fish not counting for a contest.

Since I'm prone to typo's feel free to check things and ask questions, better now than after release. :)

2 poles, one has 2 more addons then the other, so the release dates will match addons until one overtakes the other..

The poles are free (don't cost any gold), however they take time to build from the random things you find in the basement of the Hideaway Inn. You can however, skip the wait, and pay gold.. the gold cost goes down on an exponential curve.. so it costs a lot till the very last hour or so.

The addons are set to release fast.. about every couple days or so.. I may change this.. the pole and addons level very fast as well.. Wanted to keep the timing of this around Halloween, and I thought you guys would like a differently paced level. Quests should fly as well.

• Post #2 Updated multi-pole fish to properly check task requirements... People could catch the Heartworm, without completing Brave Bones twice. Going to try to go through and credit anyone who's caught the Heartworm, with 2 brave bone sets.. Now, in future, you'll have to actually follow storyline. ;)

• Post #1 There was an issue with special bonuses being removed.. Only the timer, night fishing, deckhand and pole leveling special bonuses are removed when you are actively using an addon or pole that's been released within last 30 days. Tried looking at this before, and saw that it was working properly, but clearly it wasn't after further review.

• Post #2 Adjusted Ninja Grinch contest to start later, so night fishing catches don't count as first catches on it.

Permanently added in second web server to help with white pages/timeouts.

Fixed most catches/longest streak records to properly update your profile record with the actual ranking you have, if tied. And if you're tied and fall outside the hard limit of 40, you will now be shown, as it was cutting off people before.

Added in a New Years contest as well.. pretty funny Mime fish, sums up 2020 pretty well.. :D
