Using new poles in BC

I would definitely not encourage fishing in BC using the new poles. I have tried it 3 times (with up to a level 60 pole), and every time the pole was damaged on the first cast (replace lure - 49k). Maybe we should collect more empirical data in case it was only bad luck -- can anyone confirm having a better breaking rate, or can anyone else confirm always breaking their pole on first cast?
