Steam Powered Hydro-pole Quests[edit]

Below is a list of the quests available for the Steam Powered Hydro-pole. Before starting on these quests, it is advised to have learned the skill of Mastering Shark Wrangling since you will need it in order to catch some of the quest fish.

Also, if you have not started fishing in Icelantica yet, it is suggested you only complete the first two or three quests and hold off on the remainder until after you've done so. If you cast less than 30 times per day, any quest above the second or third could take a month or longer to complete.

Steamed Goat Milk[edit]

Quest22.gif

(Difficulty: 1/10)
Elderly wranglers seem to love this little breakfast dish. Others wonder why it's still on the menu.
Pole Req: Level 10 Steam Powered Hydro-pole

Quest specific tips: Both Hate and Suave can be caught using attractants, if you do not have any Vials of Bile and Hair Gel and no means to exchange for them, you may want to try another quest. There are two ways to do this quest: Catching the Hate and Suave using the attractants with your best chum, and after that catching Tiger Sharks will be easier with the 1.5x quest boost or using love chums. A more frugal way is to use Fish Guts Chum and fish until the Tiger Sharks are done, and then finish the remaining fish with attractants - both methods are very effective, since the RLC bonus attracts the "top 4" rarest fish (which doesn't include Tiger Shark). Since the latter two fish are Fairly Prolific population, it would be cost efficient to catch the Hate later on.
Catch Req's: 8 Hate Fish, 6 Suave Fish, 5 Tiger Shark Fish ×1.5 when done with friend

Toro Flank Steak[edit]

Quest23.gif

(Difficulty: 3/10)
A beautiful cut, some say it tastes like juicy fillet minion and others agree that it tastes like dead fish fillet.
Pole Req: Level 20 Steam Powered Hydro-pole
Unlocks: High Voltage Line

Quest specific tips: The hardest fish in this quest is the Putrid, so you can use normal chum until all the Toro Fish are caught. At that point, any Suave fish can be caught using Hair Gel. Once only Putrid Fish are left, you can continue with love chum to give a .5% boost each cast and the 50% bonus for rare fish.
Catch Req's: 7 Sapphire Shark Fish, 7 Toro Fish, 7 Suave Fish, 3 Putrid Fish ×1.5 when done with friend

Smoky Tartare[edit]

Quest24.gif

(Difficulty: 5/10)
The smoked tartare is for the wranglers who enjoy fine dining, long walks on the shore, and candle light night fishing.
Pole Req: Level 30 Steam Powered Hydro-pole
Unlocks: Steel DeathClaw

Quest specific tips: This quest is straightforward, although you can use Antifreeze resource to have a 50% bonus to catch the Red D's. Optionally, if only Joan of Farovia is left, you can activate any Cheap Perfume. If you continue with the next Hydro-Pole quest, you should buy your first augment before this quest is finished.
Catch Req's: 10 Tiger Shark Fish, 7 Putrid Fish, 6 Red Diablo Shark Fish, 6 Joan of Farovia Fish ×1.5 when done with friend FW Trivia: These two quests had different names or were corrected later: The above was called Smoky Tartar and the next was called Railway Rueben. Users likely put in bug reports & Joe answered the FW fans.

Railway Reuben[edit]

Quest25.gif

(Difficulty: 8/10)
A classic sandwich that's been a wrangler favorite for many years. The steam pole and railways go way back.
Pole Req: Level 50 Steam Powered Hydro-pole
Unlocks: Electro DeathClaw

Quest specific tips: Wait until at least Lv 55 to start this one. Use Fish Guts Chum or RLC and finish the Loco Fish. NOTE: If your pole is not level 55, RLC will not help much since it will only boost the Loco Fish (which requires a level 57 pole). Use Antifreeze Protein if you need bonus help with Red Diablos. Once only Joan and Striped Diablo are left, you may choose to use Cheap Perfume to finish off the Joans, thus using the quest (and any love chum) boost on the Striped Diablo. Alternatively, just use your best chum throughout the quest. This can take less than 400 casts, depending on your luck with Striped Diablos. If you are planning to start the final SPH-p quest, try to have your pole leveled to 70 before the quest ends.

If you are trying this from Blue Caldera, you will need to go to Blue Crescent to catch the Joans.
Catch Req's: 12 Loco Fish, 9 Red Diablo Shark Fish, 8 Joan of Farovia Fish, 4 Striped Diablo Fish ×1.5 when done with friend

Turtle Pie[edit]

Quest26.gif

(Difficulty: 10/10)
The T50 helps make this pie one of the top selling desserts at BetsyLou's place.
Pole Req: Level 70 Steam Powered Hydro-pole

Rewards: 2 Liquid Gold first time, 1 Liquid Gold afterwards
Quest specific tips: This quest can be started with Fish Guts Chum, until the T50 Fish are all caught. You may want to switch to using love chum for the Sea Crocodile Fish and the Great White Shark Fish, either (or both) of which will likely be the quest "bottleneck" fish. If you have a good Quest boost saved from last catch (like 1 week) you can use repellent resources like K9, Red Blanket, or Chilli Sauce. If you have Liquid Gold, you may want to harness it for the Radioactive. This quest may take 1200+ casts.

If you are trying this quest from Blue Caldera, you will have to go back to Blue Crescent to catch the Great White Shark Fish.
Catch Req's: 21 T50 Fish, 11 Sea Crocodile Fish, 4 Great White Shark Fish, 1 Radioactive Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
