Can anyone tell me what Whiffs are and what they are good for?

Wiffs are a way to say you did not even attract a fish to steal your chum. as far as I know they are not good for anything, other than to say you sucked this many times.

Fish Wrangler Glossary and Abbreviations Whiff/Wiff: A complete miss - no catch, no chum loss. Baseball slang for when a batter swings at a pitch and misses - especially for a strikeout ("whiff" is onomatopoeic for the sound of the bat slicing through the air). The word inspired the name of the game of wiffle ball.
