Forum:Need help catching miny's please
i have a level 60 of 60 oak branch and using loaf chum in fishertonville. i'm on the second quest for this pole but i made the mistake of getting the first augment for this pole which makes catching miny's really hard. i have the skill habits of large fish please help me.

Minys only show up in Waterport. Swing back to WP and use Generic chum (their preferred) and they should come fairly quickly. Having your pole leveled doesn't have that much of an effect. You have a wider selection of fish that you're able to catch which shifts the odds of getting a particular fish, but it doesn't prevent from catching lower-level fish. If you've advanced far enough in the game, you can surface fish at Sans Culpra, and you will be restricted to catching only Miny, Catty, & Cubeys.

I'm not convinced Generic chum is preferred in practice. I tried that for a while without any Miny's. I also got 0 Miny's on Loaf chum. Steak chum has worked nicely (although it's expensive). Rbrychckn 00:19, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
im now in waterport using generic chum but im catching the common sea acorn slug alot. im not even at magma reef yet i have about 270000 points. would using catty and cubey repellents help me catch the miny fish?
i am using fish guts and catching way too many minys... fish guts is80 but minys Are worth 50… not a reccomended strategy ...
