According to this wiki you only burn fuel when fishing, not traveling around. However once you've arrived a blue cresent you can just switch back to your dingy and fish without spending fuel. Is this a bug or is there a point in burning fuel?

I can't seem to find anything in the wiki answering this.

The Dingy may be damaged by fish in the Blue Crescent. It used to be that there were no consequences for fishing in a broken boat as long as you switch back to the Mini Cruiser to travel, but I am not sure if that is still the case. --Hyperchao 19:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

once the boat is damaged, you won't be able to continue fishing until the damage is repaired. a point to note, you can safely use the dinghy while fishing in Magma Reef. afer that, to get out of Magma Reef, switch to Mini Cruiser. - Mohgui 07:14, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Also note your pole/boat can only be damaged in your own cast - if you want to penny-pinch, you can time it so that you change to dinghy for your crew trips, and only activate cruiser when you do your own casts. --Jayberwock 12:02, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
