Does it help to augment your poles while working on the next quest lvl up? Augmenting them adds to chances that you will catch the bigger fish more often?

I augmented my Oak once....i unlocked the 2nd augment but haven't augmented it yet. I'm working on the 3rd oak branch quest and just wanted to know is it worth it to augment it the 2nd time? Will it increase my chances of getting the tortoises, twigs, acorns and blossom fishes? or will it make my chances at completing the 3rd quest more difficult? I've heard both and would really like to add the 2nd augmentation but i don't want to if it's gonna add to the time it will take me to complete the quest.

Also will i make more money in the long run just augmenting it. ie. will it increase my chances of catching the rarer bigger fish?

Please help!

If you purchase the Steel Reinforcements augment while working on the 3rd quest [Toothpick Platter], it will theoretically not help you, as (when your Oak Branch is L64+,) it will increase your chances of catching a Blossom fish (which gives about 1000 gold/1600 points, more than the average fish you'd catch with your Oak Branch), and possibly lower your chances of catching the other fish.

Is that the same with all poles? Should you wait and augement them at the last possible moment because it will decrease the chances of you catching the other fish? or is that just an oak branch thing? Thanks for all your help with these questions btw! Jasons shadow 22:33, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I cannot say that it is a fact, but if it is true, it would most likely be the same for all poles.
