Below is a list of the quests available for the Fancy Rifle-Pole. Before starting on these quests, it is advised to have learned the skill of Habitats of Large Fish since you will need it in order to catch some of the quest fish.

Fancy Rifle-Pole Quests[edit]

It is suggested you only complete the first two Oak Branch quests and hold off on the remainder until you've unlocked other areas in the game like Icelantica. After leveling the poles and starting some of the first few quests over there, should you return to work on the later WaterPort quests. If you cast less than 30 times per day, any quest above the second could take a month or longer to complete. Even with tournament fishing to level poles, if you don't keep up to date with the quests, you'll be blocked from new addons for those poles.

As with all quests completed in Waterport, using repellants will slightly increase your chances of catching the quest fish.  Boo Juice along with K9 Pheromone will eliminate the Miny Fish and Catty Fish when in use. Antifreeze Potion will work too, but is better saved for Fishertonville where the Cubey exists but the other 2 prior fish do not.

Fish Tacos[edit]

Left

  • Difficulty: 1/10
  • Description: Spicy ground fiesta fish with corn tortillas. Please disregard the rumors of various wranglers getting the runs from this scrumptious feast.
  • Pole Requirements: Level 10 Fancy Rifle-Pole
  • Unlocks: Long Distance Scope

  • Quest specific tips: The hard fish to catch is the Emo, so finish the other fish first to take advantage of the quest boost and/or love chum if used. Fish in Waterport using Cayenne Chum and Loaf Chum until they are done. If you wish to catch the Fiesta faster, use Chilli Sauce. Pick a chum that has the best probability of attracting the Emo but avoid miscasts & attracting other fish.
  • Catch Requirements: 8 Fiesta Fish, 8 Loafy Fish, 3 Emo Fish ×1.5 when done with friend

Not-so-Vegan Salad[edit]

Left

  • Difficulty: 4/10
  • Description: Crisp lettuce combined with fish chunks and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Don't tell the doctor you ate this little salad.
  • Pole Requirements: Level 30 Fancy Rifle-Pole
  • Unlocks: Laser + Fancy Ribs

Hungry Hunter[edit]

Left

  • Difficulty: 8/10
  • Description: Put the rifle to rest and fill up on a fresh slab of fish with a scoop of mashed potatoes.
  • Pole Requirements: Level 50 Fancy Rifle-Pole
  • Unlocks: Auto Rib Launcher

  • Quest specific tips: Note: Buying augments will unlock new fish, and may affect the catch rate of these lower fish, so it may be best to wait until quest 3 is done. But you also have to be level 70 to start the next quest as well, so if you do hold back, wait until you only have 1-2 types of fish left. Fish in Waterport and use Fish Guts Chum to catch the Pioneer fish faster. It is unlikely, but possible to have a Flyin Fish left, if so switch to RLC to finish the quest. This quest can take up to 400 casts.

The October 2010 Change Log states this quest will be updated to require 5 Sun Fish instead of 5 Grim Fish.
If you have unlocked the Silenced Rifle in WaterPier, you may prefer to fish there for this quest as the catch chances are different (not necessarily better though), and you can also level up your stealth.

Trigger Fingers[edit]

Left

  • Difficulty: 10/10
  • Description: Kick back and relax with these cookie crisps and blueberry ice cream, served in the famous crystal gun glass.
  • Pole Requirements: Level 70 Fancy Rifle-Pole

As with all quests completed in Waterport, using repellants will slightly increase your chances of catching the quest fish. Boo Juice along with K9 Pheromone will eliminate the Miny Fish and Catty Fish when in use. Antifreeze Protein will work too, but is better saved for Fishertonville where the Cubey exists but the other 2 prior fish do not.

On October 15, 2010, new fish were added as the game developers worked to make Waterport and Fishertonville more distinct. As a result, all the quest and augment fish for the Fancy Rifle Pole were relocated to Waterport.

If you have unlocked the Silenced Rifle in WaterPier, you may prefer to fish there for this quest as the catch chances are different, and you can also level up your stealth.

SUPER BONUS QUEST!

(Difficulty: 20/10)
The Super Bonus Quest of Waterport requires Farovian Wranglers to catch an unholy number of the rarest fish in town! Not for beginners.
Pole Req: Level 80 Broken Standard , Level 80 Oak Branch , Level 80 Fancy Rifle-Pole
Rewards: 70 Free Love Chum (first time only), 2 Liquid Gold, 5 Mystery Tackle Boxes
Quest specific tips: In order to start this quest, you must have completed the quest sets for the Oak Branch, Broken Standard and the Fancy Rifle-Pole. This quest is VERY hard, and not recommended for the faint of heart. To make best use of the quest bonus, start with the Oak Branch until you catch all the Blossoms, then switch to the Broken Standard for the Mechanics using Fish Guts or Red Love Chum, then switch to the Fancy Rifle-Pole to finish off the Sniper and Marshalls. If shells aren't a issue, keep running Boo Juice with Antifreeze Protein. If it's tight, just use some Boo Juice & some K9 waiting until you have a maximum Quest boost first. This quest can take up to 22,000+ casts.

Another option is to unlock WaterPier and progress through the different stealth poles in that same order. You will still have to switch over and complete the related stealth quest if you are still needing to unlock the next stealth pole or area.
Starting Requirements: 50,000 Gold, 15 Boo Juice, and 5 Dojo Mojo
Special Quests require various resources to start because BetsyLou's new boyfriend on the side is an aspiring wrangler and needs some help getting started with gold and a variety of other delightful resources!
Catch Req's: 95 Blossom Fish, 42 Mechanic Fish, 27 Sniper Fish, 8 Marshall Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
