Cubey Fish Quests[edit]
Carpe Sliders[edit]
- Difficulty: 1/10
- Description: Delicious and juicy fish burgers, like the ones from White Water Castle. Served on top of a lightly toasted loafy bun.
- Pole Requirements: Level 1 Broken Standard
- Unlocks: Fixed Reel
- Quest specific tips: Start with Loaf Chum and stay with it until all the Loafy Fish are caught. Switch afterward to your best chum. Some of the next strategies depend on using resources or having access & traveling to other locations. You can move to Fishertonville to finish any Loafy Fish and Cubey Fish you have left, as there's only 3 fish catchable there with any WaterPort poles. If you finish the Cubey Fish, you can also use it's repellent. Also surface fishing in SC (Sans Culpra) can help to finish off any remaining fish. If you have access, you can go there after the Loafies are caught - otherwise, stay in WaterPort.
Like any quest, try not to use a chum that is preferred by a fish you don't want for that quest's pole. Using repellents can improve odds of catching the required quest fish (this won't work in areas like SC's surface & Sigs) like K9 Pheromone or a combine it with another, like Boo Juice or Antifreeze Protein, if either all the Miny Fish and Cubey Fish are already caught. This is done to avoid travel & avoid any extra fish, but it use resources & may cost shells.
- Catch Requirements: 9 Miny Fish, 5 Loafy Fish, 5 Cubey Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
Spicy Creole[edit]
- Difficulty: 1/10
- Description: Mouth-watering seafood creole with a cajun twist!
- Pole Requirements: Level 10 Necro-Pole
- Quest specific tips: This quest can be done very fast with attractants and repellents. Start with the Cubey: Stay in Waterport and use Boo Juice and K9 Pheromone with Cayenne Chum or RLC to greatly increase your chance of catching Cubeys. Other possibilities (without using repellents) is to cast in Fishertonville or Sans Culpra surface using Cayenne or RLC. The Grim and Hate Fish can both be caught in Waterport and Fishertonville using the respective attractants (Arsenic & Vials of Bile) and RLC (or Fish Guts Chum) - there is no need to use preferred chums since the attractants work almost 99% of the time, so using a chum with a low miscast rate is more effective. Without attractants look for the Hate Fish in Blue Crescent using Steak Chum, and the Grim in Fishertonville using Loaf Chum -- but note that this quest probably is not worth doing without having the required attractants. Using repellents and attractants, the quest may take only about 20-30 casts, so it can be done in just a few minutes using Tarpits and SKIPs (additional skips are available using Ice Cubes or Red Sharks).
- Catch Requirements: 10 Cubey Fish, 6 Hate Fish, 3 Grim Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
Freezing Hot Stew[edit]
- Difficulty: 1/10
- Description: Requiring more fish than any other dish, the Cubey Stew is packed with nutrients and high levels of mercury.
- Pole Requirements: Level 10 Cubey Incinerator
- Quest specific tips: IMPORTANT! Read through as this will help you prepare for future quests.
1) There are two tactics you can use depending on whether you are a 'passive' or 'active' player. Find what works best for you.
a) The passive strategy starts in Magma Reef with Steak Chum, Fire Sludge Chum or Red Love Chum. Once you reached the 20 cast limit, travel to FV/WP to catch schools of Cubeys to cool down your pole. Once your pole has sufficiently cooled (partially or fully), travel back to Magma and use your next casts towards the other fish.
b) The active strategy starts in Magma Reef, but travels to Fishertonville (as its slightly nearer) after every other cast to capitalise on vouchers, and/or Crew Trips every 30 minutes + Deckhands every hour. This will not only catch you Cubeys towards your quest total, but cool your pole down as well. This requires a reasonably high leveled boat like the Mini Cruiser and Rocket Booster to ensure no time is lost. Also make sure you switch chums too if using Sludge, but don't worry if your using the other MR chums. Love chums will increase your pole level if used too.
2) If you finish the Fireball and Demon Sea Horse requirements first, go to Waterport to catch schools of Cubeys there. As soon as all the Cubeys are caught, being in WaterPort makes it quicker to turn in your catches. This quest should take about 20-50 casts in Magma Reef and 20-25 casts in Waterport.
3) Note, if you do have any Fire Extinguishers, it is worthwhile saving these for the later quests that don't have Cubey quest requirements.
- Catch Requirements: 100 Cubey Fish, 7 Fireball Fish, 2 Demon Sea Horse Fish ×1.5 when done with friend
4) Try to catch 500-600+ Cubies from the start of this quest until the next, and continue until the 4th. You can complete this quest multiple times to help work on this goal. You will see why later on.
