You scramble up the side of a simmering volcano at Wahwah Reef, lugging a tall boy of Tarpit Stout — Farovia’s finest brew. With a slightly reckless grin, you toss it into the molten flow, sending up a plume of confetti-like sparks. When the heat subsides, you mysteriously find two Aquarian poles washed ashore, along with a tattered flyer proclaiming “Aquaria: A Magical Carnival Island!”
The flyer promises a freak show, circus, food galore, and an amusement park, but something about it feels... off. The text shimmers in the light, shifting slightly as if winking at you. A scribbled note at the bottom reads: “Find me if you can... but don’t blink.”
At the Reef's edge, the poles are labeled “Ceremonial Use Only” and look like they’ve seen better days. They’ll definitely need an add-on. Still, your curiosity is piqued... and maybe your eyebrows are a little singed. What awaits beyond this carnival gateway?
Chapter #4: The Final Champion[edit]
Catch the Boss Fish from each of the Aquaria areas.
Journal entry is as follows:
The Aquaria Tournament sign promised bragging rights and a sturdy back brace, but nobody mentioned having to take down four crime families to earn it. With Don Balloonioni's extortion racket burst, Squidtea Cuppa's tea-stained empire dried up, Capo the Centipeel’s news monopoly dismantled, and Turtleger Chef's grip on Gourmetia broken, the tournament is nearly complete.
But as you step forward to claim victory, a gust of neon confetti swirls past. A faint chuckle echoes through the carnival streets. The tournament board flickers for a moment, revealing a single, flashing phrase:
“One Challenger Remains.” Whether he is real or illusion, fish or fable, the final test is clear. Find the Carnival King... if he lets you.
Legends speak of a flamboyant fish who haunts the carnival waters of Aquaria like a rogue ringleader with a bottomless top hat. It’s said that from this enchanted hat, he conjures an endless parade of items… anything to distract and bewilder those who seek him.
Rumor has it he moves with the grace of a circus acrobat, leaving behind a trail of neon confetti and whimsical illusions that vanish as soon as you blink. Try as they might, anglers find him impossible to corner; he’s perpetually one trick ahead, as if the entire undersea realm is his stage.
The tournament promised an ultimate challenge. If he isn’t the real final test, then what is?
Chapter #5: Showdown with the Carnival King[edit]
Catch the Capo the Centipeel Boss Fish. This is a multi-pole fish that requires both poles to be level 50 and higher each. Start with one pole to catch it, then switch to the other one to finish it off.

Storyline is as follows:
As the sun dipped below the horizon, you plunged into the Aquarian Darkness while Night Fishing.
Suddenly, a flash of light unlike any other pierced the darkness. The Carnival King emerged from the depths. His ancient eyes seemed to peer into your very soul.
Awe warred with fear. This wasn't just a fish; it was a legend, a guardian of Aquaria's magic.
You cast the Weave, but the King effortlessly weaved through. Undeterred, you activated the Grill. The aroma of exotic spices, a symphony of cardamom and ginger, wafted through the water. The King, drawn by the irresistible scent, swam closer.
With a swift movement, the cage snapped shut, not with force, but with a gentle hum. The King didn't struggle, but instead, regarded you with an enigmatic smile.
“You have proven worthy,” his voice boomed, “ask your wish.”
You knew riches and fame paled in comparison. Your true wish resonated with the spirit of Aquaria.
“I wish,” you declared, “to share the wonders of Aquaria with all anglers, just as I have.”
The King chuckled, a sound like waves crashing on a sun-drenched beach. “A worthy wish indeed,” he said. “It shall be so.”
With a flick of his tail, he vanished, leaving behind a trail of shimmering rubber chickens. You knew then that your wish had been granted, and that the magic of Aquaria would forever be etched in the hearts of anglers everywhere.
As you surfaced, the cheers of the Waterportfolk erupted, welcoming you back with open arms and a sturdy back brace. You had not only caught the most magnificent fish in Aquaria, but you had unlocked its greatest treasure - the ability to share its wonders with the world. And so, armed with your stories and unforgettable experiences, you returned to the Wahwah Coaster, forever changed by the magic of the Carnival King. The end.
Catch the Carnival King Fish.
